Make a statement with a staircase!

At the turn of the millennium, renovating and self building was gathering momentum with popular television shows like Grand Designs and Changing Rooms offering inspiration.  People were looking at ways of improving their properties and investing in their homes more than ever.

It became evident to us that the humble staircase was often overlooked when it came to design and was an item usually taken for granted within a home.  The UK is one of the few countries in the world where staircases are generally carpeted and as such are manufactured out of fairly cheap materials.   Ply, softwood and MDF are most common because they simply wont be seen beneath the carpet.  We are all familiar with squeaking steps and bowing treads!!!

A staircase is often the first feature on view when entering a property, presenting the prefect opportunity to create an impression.  Many hallways can be a bit gloomy and an open riser staircase can transform the space by allowing the passage of light.

We wanted to offer something different.
